LifeStar completed its first mission on May 24th, 1986. LifeStar is a division of EmergyCare Inc. and a joint venture of Hamot Medical Center and Saint Vincent Health Center in Erie, PA. The LifeStar crew consist of a pilot, a critical care certified nurse and paramedic. The program is based in Harborcreek, PA and is flight ready 24 hours/day. The medical crew is provided by EmergyCare, Inc. LifeStar's EC-145 helicopter is operated by STAT MedEvac. STAT MedEvac provides the pilots and site mechanic for our program. LifeStar services a 150 nautical mile radius of Erie, PA and is accredited by the Commision on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems (CAMTS).
